A Blog, or Web Log, is a personal website that contains dated entries, basically a personal electronic diary. Bloggers as their authors are known, have formed a tight community amongst the internet communities and often will link back to each other’s sites as well as link to major media sources and other information resources.
The phenomenon of soldier blogs has created yet another community in blogosphere, one which has an ever increasing audience. Sblogs (soldier blogs) have been able to touch the hearts of countless Americans with the messages that sbloggers have to share. It has enabled the home front to connect with real soldiers who are serving their country and have become links in the chain of history as defenders of freedom. Sbloggers have been able to document the fierce struggles they face on a daily basis in Iraq and Afghanistan. Others allow you to follow the trials and emotions a reservist goes through when they are being mobilized and readied for war. Bloggers are not just writing and reporting the story, they are LIVING the story every day. Sblogs are often gripping and sometimes graphic, first hand accounts, of the author's life and experiences.
The following list is by no means all inclusive as you will discover if you explore the world of blogs, I have simply included the ones that I read frequently and find the most interesting, informative and genuine.
Special thanks must go out to Sgt. Chris Missick for letting me use descriptive language from his own blog in the above description. Thanks Chris, you rock!!
